Snowboard training in Sierra Nevada (Spain)

Christmas holidays everyone relates them to rest, but for us it's time to workout.
The holidays of this year were special: we have returned to our dear Sierra Nevada.
Five years ago was when we went to Sierra Nevada the first time, someone told us about this place for its ski resort and its snowpark one of the best in Europe where go all professional to training this sport. Since then we had not returned, and it was time. As we had to train in the Christmas holidays, so it was in one of the best ski resorts in Europe.
On December 26 morning after many hours of travel we reached our hotel, we were located in our rooms, we put our snowboard  clothes and went straight to Borreguiles to start our week of training.
We started down a few times Veleta II warm-up exercise and then we headed to the snowpark.
We started with some Freestyle to adapt the track, then a gap to backside 270 boardslide, handplant and Nollie, and to finalize the morning workout we practice the Misti Flip.
It was nice to snowboard in new snow and in a snowpark so comfortable.
On January 1 we did the famous "night descent" after dinner of Years Eve. It was amazing, seemed film. We did what more we liked while we were enjoying the beautiful illuminated scenery.
At the end of the trip we achieved our goal: improving the 900 Air.
I leave a video of our nocturnal descent and some pictures of our training.

New experience: Sandboard (in Tunisia)

After a week off we received a letter from our coach with five airline tickets to Tunisia on May 30, 2014. The letter was a note saying: to be the best at something you have to work hard.
He also said that for this trip we only going to need our skateboard helmets, summer clothes and plenty of sunscreen.
Once on the plane, our coach started telling us what it was our trip: we were practicing "sandboarding" a new sport practiced with a board that would help us improve our technique.
We arrived at the hotel at night, rested a few hours and we had to get up early to go to the desert where we would sandboarding.
In the morning after the big breakfast, they got on us in a 4x4 to take us to the resort. Once there we took our equipments and they swept away us to the biggest dunes.
Sandboarding experts told us the basic caves of the sport, then it was our turn.
At first it was a weird feeling, it seemed that we were snowboarding, but in reality was totally different because you had to have more balance and falls ached more, also influenced the warmth into the exhaustion.
Unfortunately on one of my downs I stumbled upon a stone, I fell down with a bad posture and when we went to the doctor, he said that I had a broken wrist.
Overall it was a good experience, because as I told you, we are lovers of the tables, and we like all modalities.
I leave a video of our instructor. Hope you like it and you feel encouraged to try this sport!

A dream of every surfer: Mavericks (in California)

Hello again! The post of today is dedicated to surfing enthusiasts, those who have a dream in common: Mavericks.
We are from Tahiti (Hawaii) where the waves have normal size, from 3 to 5 meters . As we like the adventure, for a while now we are devoting ourselves to surf big waves in competitions around the world.
I´m going to speak a little of that dream, Mavericks.
For all surfers is something that few reach; For all surfers is something that few reach; It is a competition that takes many hours of sacrifice in and out of water, and of course it is very difficult get into the competition because you have to pass many trials.
For  us this dream was achieved. I will never forget the August 30, 2013, when I received a call from our sponsor at 4 in the morning giving us the scoop:  we were in the competition !
Since that day until October 30 that opens up competition time all were training.
Finally came that day, December 15 when we were told that the next day would be the expected competition where we will surfer the biggest waves of the season, 10 to 12 meters high.
We woke up very sleepy and went direct in a van to a cliff from where we would have to walk down our tables to a small beach. From that beach hopped on a boat that took us up past the breakwater and there we waited for our turn off.
We were 40 in the competition, , and each of us play  in a different batch.
Once it was my turn everything was nerves.
When I surfed the first wave, nerves turned into adrenaline and emotion. After so long dreaming about those waves, I was surfing it in a competition.
The first wave came out perfect to me, come to the end without any problem, where I picked up by a jet ski to surf the next wave. The weariness, fatigue and cold were beginning to be present, but I could not surrender and I surfed the second wave. All "S&S" were in the top 15, and although we didn´t win anything, we had fulfilled our dream.
I have attached a video of some moments of the competition.
